KEENAN PLANS TO JOIN BETTE AND CHER IN VEGAS

TOOL frontman MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN is set to become the latest star to front a Las Vegas cabaret show.

The rocker is reportedly planning a residency at The Palms in Las Vegas, which will begin in February 09.
Sources claim the quirky variety show will feature comedy and music.
Keenan tells ThePulseofRadio.com that the show is not a new venture for him he fronted a similar project in Los Angeles before he became famous for his music.
He says, "I generally started off as a name that I was attaching to some of the comedy things I was doing with (comedian) Laura Milligan at this club called Tantrum which existed in the Diamond Club on Hollywood and La Brea.
"We'd have a variety show, lots of talent coming through there just kind of trying out their new stuff."

Video footage of Christoph Schneider from German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN laying down tracks for the group's new CD earlier this month at a studio in Los Angeles can be viewed below.

RAMMSTEIN is recording the initial tracks for the new album in Los Angeles with Jacob Hellner and the production team of Ulf Kruckenberg and Florian Ammon. A studio has been rented near San Francisco for the bulk of the main recording work, which will be completed before the end of the year. An early 2009 release is expected.

Rubin has been playing drums since he was 8 years old, taking lessons from ex-Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and the Hooters' David Uosikkinen. He was entered into the Guiness Book of World Records for being the youngest player to perform on a Woodstock stage, after opening the '99 Woodstock festival at the age of 11. Also while at the age of 11, he was picked by Modern Drummer Magazine as the "Best Undiscovered Drummer Under the Age of 18."

Rubin revealed he will leave Lostprophets for good after finishing up the final touches on their forthcoming new album in Los Angeles, and is unlikely to play live with them again.

"As of January that's [Nine Inch Nails] going to have to be my full time thing," he told NME.COM. "I know that I'm not just in to fill in for a couple of months. I'll be there for whatever needs to be done, and that's basically that's my new position."

Rubin, who has been with Lostprophets since 2005, said his bandmates had been supportive about his decision to leave.

"They're [Lostprophets] very supportive of me going because they knew it would be good for me," he said. "They're fans of Nine Inch Nails themselves so I can honestly say there's no hard feelings. I'll be able to leave on a positive note and remain friends with everybody."

Marilyn Manson to headline Mayhem Fest 2009?
Marilyn Manson The Gauntlet has been hearing rumors, and once you hear the same rumor twice it becomes fact, that Marilyn Manson will be headlining next Summers Mayhem Festival. Festival organizers have refused to comment on who will be performing as the lineup isn't complete yet but said expect this years Mayhem Festival to be bigger and better than last years.

I had the chance to see Ilan playing his ass off at Reading and Leeds a couple summers ago and he blew me away. We recently invited him out to rehearse with us and he blew US away - the perfect guy to pick up the sticks after Josh leaves us at the end of the year.

Marilyn Manson has split with his actress girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood in a dispute over her brother, according to reports today.

The goth-rocker, 38, whose real name is Brian Warner, got together with the actress in 2006, when she was just 18. At the time, he was still married to burlesque star Dita Von Teese.

The pair reportedly split up after Manson wanted to kick Wood's brother Ira out of the couple's guest house, which is reportedly owned by Wood.

"Evan owned the house and didn't want her unemployed sibling living on the street," a source reportedly told Star Magazine. "It was the tipping point. Evan was fed up with how controlling and emotionally abusive Marilyn was."

Evan Rachel Wood is sick of the false reports circulating about why she and Marilyn Manson broke up.

"Manson and I both decided to take some time apart so we could concentrate on work. Someone used that opportunity to kick us while we were down and sell a completely false story," the actress, 21, explains in a statement exclusively to PEOPLE.

Stories of the couple splitting in a bitter fight over Wood's brother Ira, who had been living with the pair, getting kicked out of the guest house by Manson, 39, started popping up this week.

"Manson owns the house he lives in. My brother has never stayed there and the person that said such horrible things about Manson being 'controlling' and 'emotionally abusive' is certainly no source 'close' to me," Woods says. "Manson has been by my side and taken care of me through the best and worst times. I love him as a person and as an artist. I will always be proud to have been a part of that.

"If any more attacks are made on us, it is the act of a desperate, selfish person, who is angry to no longer be a part of my life. No further comment will be made and we request our privacy at this time."

Manson and Wood began dating in December 2006.

Despite splitting with Marilyn Manson, Evan Rachel Wood says the rocker still holds a place in her heart.

"I'm always going to love him and respect him," she told Usmagazine.com Sunday at Hollywood Life's Behind the Camera Awards in Hollywood.

Asked how she is feeling, she told reporters, "I'm doing fine, you know, as best as can be expected."

She denied reports that they called it quits after Manson kicked her brother Ira out of his guest house.

"You know, it's not the nasty thing everybody thinks it is," she said. "We've both got incredible things going on right now. He's making an amazing album - I've heard some of it, and he should be very proud of it.

"You know, I've got [the upcoming drama] The Wrestler going on, and I'm focusing on that," she added.

Of the split, she said, "It's not a bad thing. It's life - it happens.

"But now, it's like the story that comes right after the breakup [is]: Who am I dating now?" she said. "So right now, I'm just enjoying being on my own. It's just not in the cards right now."

She denied reports that she is romancing Mickey Rourke, her co-star in The Wrestler.

"Everybody thinks we're dating, and we're not. Spread the word - I’m not dating Mickey Rourke!" she said. "You know, we developed a close friendship. He’s a great guy, a talented guy. He's been through it all, and [we had] such intense shoots, I think, because we played father and daughter [in The Wrestler]. I think he's just kind of trying to take me under his wing."

We're talking about performing for Barack Obama.

Now comes a claim from Marilyn Manson's ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood that the wacko rocker and his bassist Twiggy Ramirez were asked by the Obama camp to perform in support of the campaign.

Problem is, it doesn't sound like such a request was ever made. At least according to an Obama spokesperson who quickly shot down Wood's claim, responding in an email, "That is not true."

So what did Wood have to say about the supposed offer?

"I advised them not to do it," Wood said last night in L.A. at the Behind the Camera Awards, presented by Hamilton and Hollywood Life magazine. "I said, 'If you show up there, it's not going to be good. It's going to bring a lot of controversy, which I know you love, but Obama doesn't need it right now.' "

Invitation or not, Wood thinks her ex should head to Washington in January: "Now that Obama's been officially elected, I might call Manson and say, 'Just go! Just go to the inauguration!' "

A rep for Manson did not immediately comment.

Meanwhile, Wood had much to say about another political topic - the passage of California's Prop 8.

"I don't want to bash religion or Christian morals, but I think if you're an American, you should have the freedom to do whatever you want," she said. "This whole thing really breaks my heart, considering it has to do with love. Why should there be laws telling us who we can and can't love?"

One celeb sans any date was the recently single Evan Rachel Wood, who just broke off her inappropriately aged affair with Marilyn Manson. She's also busy getting her M.M. tatts removed, ouch! Lasering after love's gone astray is so painful, n'est-ce pas?

Nevertheless, ERW piped: "We love each other - I just want to be by myself."
